November Dance

nov dance

Thursday-Saturday, November 10-12, 2011, at 7:30pm

Colwell Playhouse

November Dance will feature a remake of the politically charged Patriot Act Up by Sara Hook set to a live performance of John Philip Sousa’s music. With this restaging, we will join the Center for American Music in a celebration of the extensive Sousa Collection at the University of Illinois. We also welcome the return of alumna T. Lang, who will create an explosive new piece for our students. Lang is currently a professor at Spelman College, a prestigious historically black college for women in Atlanta. The concert will also include a wide range of dance styles by resident artists from Dance at Illinois.
